Open Competition
Kindly sponsored by Mr. Drew Harris, Glen-Dubh-Lochain Highland Cattle Fold, Knoydart. Mallaig
This competition is open to all contestants

Entry Fee £10
  1. Each team comprises 6 pulling members and 1 coach
  2. There is no weigh in
  3. Each round is best of three pulls
  4. Teams change end on completion of each pull
  5. Teams should report 15 minutes before the start of the event (Time to be advised by stewards on the day)
  6. No raised heel plates, crampons, spikes or protrusions and no gloves to be worn
  7. Teams must be suitably dressed and all dressed the same
  8. Rope Marking - 3 tapes - colourful mark at centre - 2 white approx 4m on either end
  9. Pull shall be won when one of the side markers is pulled past the judges' marker
  10. All team members must pay entry to the showfield

The Pub Challenge Shield for the 15th Year
Open to Neilston and Uplawmoor Public Houses Only

  1. Maximum of 1 team per Public House.
  2. Each team comprises 7 members and 1 reserve.
  3. Each round is best of three pulls.
  4. Team Lists should be submitted one week before the show to the appropriate Neilston Show Committee Member and should comprise bar staff and/or regular clients.
  5. Teams should report 15 minutes before the start of the event. (Time to be advised by stewards on the day)
  6. No studded/spiked footwear and no gloves to be worn.

The Albar Ladies Pub Challenge Tug-o-war

This is a fun event, where Albar will donate £100 to the winner's favourite charity. It takes place at approx 3:00pm. Rules are as above - except there are 6 members and 1 reserve.
